During the walk you’ll have the chance to visit the recently finished Kerdroya labyrinth and hear about the creation of ‘Drolla’ the story telling bench\, discover about the ancient Cornish tradition of ‘Beating the Bounds’ and its historic significance as well as explore the amazing natural heritage of the Bodmin Moor landscape. \n  \nWhere is this event?\nKerdroya Car Park\, St Neot\, Liskeard PL14 6PZ \nW3W: ///grace.commoners.friction \n  \nWhen is this event? \nWednesday 13th May – Meet at 10am \n  \nWhat to bring?\nPlease bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated throughout the walk\, we will be stopping for a lunch break\, please bring you own packed lunch. Ensure to dress appropriately for the weather and bring study walking boots as there will be sections of uneven rough terrain and likey boggy wet areas. Please also bring any required medication with you on the walk\, normal parking charges apply at Kerdroya Car Park \n  \nThe walk will be roughly 5.8km. DESCRIPTION:IntoBodmin and Cornwall National Landscape are teaming up once again on a lovely event to celebrate the Drolla Bench!\n  \n\nOn 9th May\, we gather to celebrate the arrival of the Drolla storytelling bench at intoBodmin.\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect? \n\nCome and celebrate with us and Cornwall National Landscape on the 9th May with an evening of Storytelling and a good ol’ fashioned Cornish sing-song! \nArrival from 7pm to grab a drink and view the Drolla Bench in our newly refurbished garden!\nThen an evening of storytelling\, music and ending on a ‘shout’ lead by Daniel Woodfield. \n  \nThe evening will feature a reading by Pascale Petit. \n  \nPascale Petit was born in Paris and lives in Cornwall. Her latest poetry collection\, Beast\, which contains her Bodmin Moor poems\, was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2025\, and was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. Her novel\, My Hummingbird Father\, was published by Salt in 2024. She has published nine poetry collections\, four of which were shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Mama Amazonica won the RSL Ondaatje Prize and the inaugural Laurel Prize for eco-poetry\, and Tiger Girl was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection and for Wales Book of the Year. \n  \nPascale will be selling her books during the interval. Cash only for this please.\n\nAs well as a debut performance of ‘Up on the Moor’ a new folk song for the people of Bodmin Moor co-created by Dan Woodfield\, Kevin Brinn\, Anna Anise\, Ryan Jones and the people that contributed from Blisland Inn\, The Crows Nest (Darite) and The Wilsey Down Pub (Camelford). We’ll kick off the event with a guided walk exploring the unique archaeology on the moor\, then at around 20:00 we will meet with the Bodmin Moor International Dark Sky Landscape team from Caradon Observatory to gaze through powerful telescopes and learn how to interpret the skies. \nWhen is this event?\nFriday the 17th of April – Meet at 18:00 \nWhere to meet?\nSouth Penquite Farm\, Blisland\, Bodmin\, PL30 4LH\nW3W: quiz.hacksaw.quick\nGrid Reference: SX 10760 74970 \nPlease use the W3W or Grid reference to find the meeting point. \nWhat to bring for this event?\nPlease bring appropriate clothing depending on the weather as well as suitable footwear. We would recommend walking boots for this event as there will be sections of uneven terrain during the walk. Make sure to bring plenty of water to keep yourselves hydrated and if possible please headtorches as there will be a limited number of these available. You’re welcome to also bring snacks\, warm drinks\, blankets and camping chairs for the stargazing. \nAdditional Information:\nThe walk will be roughly around 3km (~2 Miles) with various sections of uneven terrain. Should the weather take a turn for the worst\, we will adapt the event into a Dark Skies talk and presentation in the dry. \nThere will be limited numbers for this event and booking is required.

DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED \nJoin our Monumental Improvement team at South Penquite Farm for an alluring stargazing walk on Friday the 25th of April. We’ll kick off the event with a guided walk exploring the unique archaeology on the moor\, then at around 20:00 we will meet with the Bodmin Moor International Dark Sky Landscape team from Caradon Observatory to gaze through powerful telescopes and learn how to interpret the skies. \nWhen is this event?\nFriday the 25th of April – Meet at 18:00 \nWhere to meet?\nSouth Penquite Farm\, Blisland\, Bodmin\, PL30 4LH\nW3W: quiz.hacksaw.quick\nGrid Reference: SX 10760 74970 \nPlease use the W3W or Grid reference to find the meeting point. \nWhat to bring for this event?\nPlease bring appropriate clothing depending on the weather as well as suitable footwear. We would recommend walking boots for this event as there will be sections of uneven terrain during the walk. Make sure to bring plenty of water to keep yourselves hydrated and if possible please headtorches as there will be a limited number of these available. You’re welcome to also bring snacks\, warm drinks\, blankets and camping chairs for the stargazing. \nAdditional Information:\nThe walk will be roughly around 3km (~2 Miles) with various sections of uneven terrain. Should the weather take a turn for the worst\, we will adapt the event into a Dark Skies talk and presentation in the dry. \nThere will be limited numbers for this event and booking is required.  \nTo confirm your attendance for the stargazing walk\, please RSVP for the number of spaces you would like to reserve and complete the form below. \nThe South Penquite Campsite have also kindly offered availability to camp overnight at the site.
