Young explorers will have hours of fun with various archaeological\, ecological and nature based games to get involved with. DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, skeletal remains\, dating from around 1700\, were found in Section 04 of Cornwall National Landscape (AONB)\, situated along a busy coast path in Trevone. The remains have prompted investigation and intrigue. \nFollowing the excavation of the remains\, Richard Mikulski\, Senior Archaeologist from Cornwall Archaeological Unit\, examined the remains in more detail\, discovering more about his bones and who he might have been… Cornwall National Landscape are working with local author Gareth Rees and musician\, Toby Lobb (Fisherman’s Friends\, Loveridge) to creatively and sensitively bring these bones to life. \nJoin us for an evening of music and reading to mark the publication of Give Him a Little Earth by Gareth Rees\, a book that imagines the possible lives of the bones of Trevone. \n  \nPerformances  \nGARETH REES (AUTHOR READING) \nTOBY LOBB (FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS\, LOVERIDGE MUSIC) with the first performance of ‘Bury My Bones’\, a sea shanty composed as an accompaniment to Give Him a Little Earth. \nCHARLIE NOORDEWIER (THE NATIVE) \n  \nTickets \n£20 and include a limited edition signed copy of Give Him a Little Earth\, poster and tote bag featuring one of Anupa Gardner’s beautiful illustrations from the book. Do they love drawing and colouring? \nIf so\, join our Monumental Improvement project\, partnered with Liz Dale AKA The Cornish Bird Blog and local Cornish Artist Sam Halstead on Thursday 15th of August for an interesting\, awe fulfilling walkshop through immense natural beauty of Bodmin Moor. \nWe’ll explore the prehistoric past of Bodmin Moor where you’ll discover the myths and legends of this fascinating landscape whilst drawing the jaw-dropping landscape surrounding you. \nWhen is this event?\nThursday 15th August from 10am – 3pm \nWhere is this event? \nNorth Hill Village Hall\, Lynher Close\, North Hill\, Launceston\, PL15 7PQ\nW3W: mysteries.developed.caramel\nGrid Reference: SX 27079 76732 \nWhat to bring for this event?\nPlease bring a packed lunch\, drinks and dress for the conditions on the day. We will be stopping regularly so think warm and well covered with waterproof shoes\, boots or wellies! It would also be helpful if you can bring either a sit mat or a carriable folder stool or similar to perch on. \nAdditional Information:\nIf the weather is unkind to us\, we will have access to hall all day. We will also car share out to the Moor from the Hall.  This event will require a walk of up to 3 miles with some steep gradients and wet under foot conditions. \nDogs will not be allowed at this event. \nPlease complete the form below and make sure to accept the RSVP to confirm your attendance.
