SUMMARY:Volunteer Opportunities at St Constantine's Chapel
DESCRIPTION:Join our Monumental Improvement for our final series of volunteer events\, with the remaining works to be carried out at St Constantine’s Chapel\, found out more about what will be happening below: \n  \nFriday 10th October (10:30am – 3pm) – This will be a set up day\, such as helping Old Light Building Conservation to set up the scaffold tower\, asses the onsite conditions etc. It probably won’t include getting to grips with the work itself but talking through our plans and the future management of the site. \n  \nMonday 27th – Wednesday 29th October (9:30am – 3pm) – The key task on these days is the soft capping of the walls and tower of the chapel. We will need help moving\, laying\, watering\, trimming the turf as well as some archaeological recording\, photographing and probably some small-scale vegetation management of the ivy and other sections of the site. (Free pasty lunch on these days) \n  \nFriday 31st October (9:30am – 3pm) – The final archaeological recording of the elevations of the tower and walls\, general shots of the ‘after repairs’ condition of the monument and\, weather permitting\, a chance to get more drone footage of the site. \n  \nThis work with the turves might be quite heavy\, and although we are hoping for good weather\, it is October so it could get a bit wet. Because of the nature of working with turves and the deadline of the project\, we’ll likely be working through rough condition unless it’s really poor weather. \n  \nPlease bring weather appropriate clothing e.g. water proof trousers/rain coasts if wet as well as very study footwear. Please also bring plenty of water and nibbles to keep you hydrated and energised throughout the day. We will be meeting in the Trevose Golf and Country Club Car Park\, Constantine Bay\, Padstow\, PL28 8JB \n  \nPlease contact james.richards@cornwall.gov.uk with any questions regarding volunteering at this event
