What does tranquillity mean to you?

Cornwall National Landscape and Falmouth University are launching an online survey about people’s experiences of their time spent outside.

We need your help to better understand what people need to feel tranquil. National Landscapes are protected landscapes whose distinctive character and natural beauty are so outstanding that it is in the nation’s interest to safeguard them. They are nationally designated by the same laws as National Parks and have the same status and level of protection.

Cornwall National Landscape is unique; it is the only protected landscape that has 12 separate sections, totalling almost a third of Cornwall – an area equivalent in size to Dartmoor National Park.

A deeper understanding of Natural Beauty and tranquillity is important to help our work to conserve and enhance our special places. Tranquil places can affect us deeply and become a part of us. Where do you find tranquillity
outside? We’d love you to tell us in our online survey.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete and closes on 31st March 2025.
