You’re invited to an exciting Discovery Day at Tehidy Country Park on Saturday the 20th of April. Join our Monumental Improvement team who will be running a series of activities throughout the day for you to explore the history of Tehidy woods and uncover mysteries and secrets of this fascinating landscape. Find out about the fantastic events on offer below.

Children’s myths and legends story writing: BOOKING REQUIRED
Local blogger and writer Liz Dale will be running two sessions (10:30 and 14:30) for children to discover how to write exciting stories about the myths and legends of Cornwall. There will be 7 spaces available for either session.

Guided accessible walk: BOOKING REQUIRED
Our Activities Officer Iain Rowe will be leading an accessible guided walk through Tehidy Woods (12:30). During which you can explore the past and discover about Tehidy Round. There will also be an option to explore the nearby Iron Age cliff castle, Carvannel Castle. Please note that Carvannel Castle is inaccessible to those with mobility issues.

Iron Age archaeology activities: NO BOOKING REQUIRED
Discover and use archaeological tools from the Iron Age and explore how they would have been used with Sally Herriett.

Dr Bike: NO BOOKING REQUIRED
Meet the enthusiastic team from Sustrans who will be with us throughout the day assisting those whose bikes are in need of repair and passing on cycle routes in Cornwall for you to explore.

Woodland Geohunt: NO BOOKING REQUIRED
Delve into our Geohunt and explore the picturesque woodland whilst uncovering clues to the sites historic past.

We will be stationed in our Mobile Visitor Centre near North Cliffs car park. Make sure to keep an eye out for our flags to find your way to us.

What to bring:

Make sure to bring appropriate clothing and plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. The Tehidy Park Cafe, located by the South Drive car park will be open but feel free to bring your own refreshments.
