An exciting history walk on the picturesque Roseland Peninsula, visiting Carne Beacon and Veryan Castle.

Join us for a circular walk on Friday the 10th of May to explore the history of the Roseland Peninsula with the Cornwall National Landscape, Cornwall Archaeological Society and St Gerrans and Porthscatho Old Cornwall Society.

Starting from Carne Beach carpark, we’ll walk along the beautiful coastal path overlooking Gerrans Bay, with a detour inland to Veryan Castle and Carne Beacon, learning about the history of the area along the way. You can also uncover recent archaeological survey results carried out by the Monumental Improvement project (MI).

Please note the walk will be around 4km long and will involve steep inclines and declines . A map of the proposed route can be seen below.

What to bring:

Please bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated and make sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Please bring any snacks you wish to keep yourself energise as well as any medication.
