Come and celebrate with us and Cornwall National Landscape on the 9th May with an evening of Storytelling and a good ol’ fashioned Cornish sing-song!
Arrival from 7pm to grab a drink and view the Drolla Bench in our newly refurbished garden!
Then an evening of storytelling, music and ending on a ‘shout’ lead by Daniel Woodfield.
The evening will feature a reading by Pascale Petit.
Pascale Petit was born in Paris and lives in Cornwall. Her latest poetry collection, Beast, which contains her Bodmin Moor poems, was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2025, and was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. Her novel, My Hummingbird Father, was published by Salt in 2024. She has published nine poetry collections, four of which were shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Mama Amazonica won the RSL Ondaatje Prize and the inaugural Laurel Prize for eco-poetry, and Tiger Girl was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection and for Wales Book of the Year.
Pascale will be selling her books during the interval. Cash only for this please.
As well as a debut performance of ‘Up on the Moor’ a new folk song for the people of Bodmin Moor co-created by Dan Woodfield, Kevin Brinn, Anna Anise, Ryan Jones and the people that contributed from Blisland Inn, The Crows Nest (Darite) and The Wilsey Down Pub (Camelford). Commissioned by intoBodmin, Lowender and Cornwall National Landscape.
There will also be spoken word performances from Bring Your Verses and music from Cornish Tunes Club.
