We are looking for…

We’re recruiting for an independent Trustee to join the Cornwall National Landscape Trust, our charity dedicated to supporting the protected landscape in Cornwall.

You are someone who has an understanding of UK Charity Law, or a willingness to learn.  You’ll have an understanding of, and interest in, the role of protected landscapes. No prior experience as a Charity Trustee is necessary, and we welcome interest from people for whom Trustee roles have traditionally not felt accessible.

The Role

You are working towards the conservation and enhancement of the protected landscape by the consideration of four key priorities: People, Place, Nature and Climate. Your contribution plays a crucial role providing the existing board of Trustees, made up of ex-officio Trustees and Cornwall National Landscape staff, with independent scrutiny.

Ensure the charity complies with its governing document and charity law. Uphold good governance standards and ensure decisions are made in the charity’s best interests. Monitor risks and maintain appropriate policies (finance, data, grant-giving), provided by the Cornwall National Landscape organisation.

Oversee delivery of charitable purpose

Receive bi-annual reports from CNL organisation. Monitor progress, impact, and quality of delivery. Offer support and constructive challenge. Attend four trustee meetings per year and participate in decision making. Declare conflicts of interest and act with independence and integrity.

The process

If you're interested in becoming our independent Trustee, please complete the form below. There is space here to tell us about you, why you'd like the role and upload your CV.

Your expression of interest and CV will be assessed by the Trustee Board. We will close the EOI form on Friday 31st July 2026. Interviews will be scheduled as soon as possible.
