Kynance Gate – September 2024

Over two days, volunteers helped clear Blackthorn and Gorse at the site. They widened the entrance path to reduce erosion and uncovered one of the roundhouses, making it more visible in the landscape. The work also helps rare species like Solenopsora liparina, a special lichen found only on The Lizard.

Wardbrook Farm Prehistoric Cist – July 2024

Volunteers played a key role in uncovering a prehistoric burial site at Wardbrook Farm. Working alongside archaeologists, they helped carefully reveal a stone cist hidden in the landscape, thought to be part of a larger Bronze Age burial area. Their efforts brought new understanding to the site and highlighted just how much we can learn when local hands get stuck in.
